Supported employment for additional needs

Salford Supported Employment

A man sits at a table listening to another man speak

In Salford, we believe people with a learning disability, autism and/or ADHD deserve the same opportunities in life as their peers, including paid employment. We know that most people with a learning disability or autism can and want to work, as long as they have access to the right support.

About the service

Securing work can help individuals to build independence, confidence, and skills, as well as widening friendships and social networks, and being seen as a full member of society.

However, finding and sustaining employment can sometimes be tough for residents with learning disabilities, autism or ADHD, but Salford Supported Employment is here to help. The service helps people with learning disabilities, autism and/or ADHD to find a job and supports residents in the workplace to sustain employment. We work with a wide range of businesses and organisations, and provide support for both the employee and employer for as long as needed.

The support was helpful, supportive and they really listened to my needs.”

A valuable service for anyone with autism or a learning need who wants guidance and someone to support them along the way."

Brodie, supported employee

If you have autism or a learning need, I would recommend the programme, as it really helped me build my confidence. It is reassuring to have someone there to guide you when you are unsure about how to progress. The key workers are very supportive, and they help you stay focused and overcome any potential barriers to work."
