  • Support for young people has moved in-house and is being delivered by Salford City Council
  • The service will be known as Find Your Future, part of the Salford Employment Hub
  • Move forms part of the council’s commitment to becoming a Child Friendly City and delivering Good Growth
  • New integrated approach will improve how young people are supported into education, employment and training

Salford City Council has brought services supporting young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) back in-house, delivering on its commitment to become a Child Friendly City and ensure every young person has the opportunity to thrive.

The newly named Find Your Future team has officially joined the council and is now operating as part of the Salford Employment Hub within the Skills and Work service. The team previously delivered support through Career Connect, and will now work directly within the council to strengthen opportunities and outcomes for young people across Salford.

This marks a significant shift in how the city supports some of its most vulnerable young residents. By integrating the service into the council, Find Your Future will deliver a more responsive, flexible and joined-up offer for young people. This includes stronger links to the wider Salford Employment Hub, local employers, schools and other partners to better meet the needs of young people and help them access jobs, training and education.

Cllr Michele Barnes, Lead Member for Skills, Work, Workforce and Industrial Relations, said:

We’re delighted to welcome the Find Your Future team into Salford City Council. Their work plays a vital role in helping our young people build confidence, gain skills and access the opportunities they deserve. Bringing the service in-house strengthens our commitment to being a truly Child Friendly City and ensures we can offer a more joined up and responsive approach. We’re excited to work together to support even more young people across Salford to achieve their ambitions.”

The arrival of Find Your Future also strengthens the council’s Good Growth priority by aligning support for young people with Salford’s wider employment and skills strategy. The team will work closely with partners across the city to ensure continuity, quality of support and seamless access to opportunities.

The service is now fully operational within the council, with ongoing engagement planned with young people, staff and partners to continuously shape and improve the offer.

The Find Your Future team can be contacted by calling 0161 393 4500 or emailing [email protected]. More information about the service can be found on the information, advice and guidance for young people web page.
